The Alexander Technique is a proven, safe, self-care method to stop pain, stress and muscular tension caused by everyday misuse of the body. In this introductory course, through gentle guiding touch, the spoken word, and studied movement, the teacher will assist you in changing your quality of movement in keeping with your body’s design.

In this introductory course you will explore the basic principles of the Alexander Technique. You will learn skills you can use immediately. This will include centering work, experiential anatomy, movement games, and explore in how to apply AT to everyday activities.

Harry Potter and the Hero’s Journey

The story of Harry Potter is about being awakened, challenged, educated, and empowered – just like the story of every human life! The worldwide phenomenon of Harry Potter, through five best-selling books and three wildly popular films, is an indication that his adventures speak to all of us on a deep spiritual level. We affirm our own story as we follow his adventures.

This unique class will spend six weeks appreciating the message and power of the Hero’s Journey of Harry Potter through the first three books and films. Each class will move consecutively through the story. The first hour will be film viewing; the second hour will involve a discussion of the principles, challenges and awareness that play out in Harry’s adventures, and in our own. Since the Harry Potter story appeals to seekers of all ages, this will be a multi-generational class, open to everyone interested in the depths of the story and the symbols through which it is expressed. The class is designed to introduce the Lessons of Affirmation used by Charles Fillmore. The intention is not only to read the lessons but apply and analyze the way we study and apply mathematical principles. We will explore the possibilities of new thoughts in mind and body; and if we follow the instructions, in the way that Mr. Fillmore pointed out in his book, we will open ourselves to a Spiritual Illumination.

Whether you feel lost, bored, challenged, or happy in your career, you are on a Hero’s Journey. Every stage of your journey has blessings and challenges. This experiential workshop will use the concepts introduced in Reverend Ed’s series to examine your own Hero’s Journey with respect to your career. As a participant in this workshop, you will:

• Identify where you are in your Career Hero’s Journey
• Gain confidence in your ability to take the next step in your career aspirations
• Discover helpful resources for your journey
• Develop concrete next steps for your career development
